Content Summary:
The 7.5-minute Digital Elevation Models (DEM) in this dataset have 10 meter post spacings and are projected in UTM Zone 10, NAD 83. Elevations may be meters or feet. The format is defined by the 1998 DEM Standard (http://rockyweb.cr.usgs.gov/nmpstds/demstds.html). These ASCII DEMs are further compressed by the UNIX utility, gzip. As of November 14, 2006, the USGS no longer offers Digital Elevation Models. For the most recent elevation coverage, please see the National Elevation Dataset (http://ned.usgs.gov/). |
